 ANNUAL MEETING ON NOVEMBER 21

The Joint Annual Meeting of the board of directors of GCP and the Grand Central District Management Association will be held tomorrow, November 21. The meeting will take place at the 101 Club in the lobby of 101 Park Avenue beginning at 9 am.


 THE CAMPBELL APARTMENT GOES OLD SCHOOL TO EARN TOP HONORS IN “BEST OF” LIST

The Campbell Apartment (15 Vanderbilt Ave - 212-953-0409) has scored the top spot on yet another "Best Of...” list. The current issue of Blackbook magazine recognizes the swanky lounge as New York City's "Best Old School Bar," awarding kudos for its “flapper-clad staff” and pitch-perfect cocktails.  THE STATION AT CITIGROUP CENTER IS A WONDERFUL WORLD OF MINIATURES IN MOTION

The Atrium at Citigroup Center (153 East 53rd St) will once again be filled with the magic of the holidays as Citi invites New Yorkers and all visitors to enjoy The Station at Citigroup Center, a highly anticipated and heart-warming tradition here in the Grand Central neighborhood. The wonderful world of miniatures-in-motion takes place in the elaborate setting of a mid-twentieth century fantasy New York. Free and open to the public, the model train exhibit will run every day except Christmas from November 28 through January 2. As an extra special treat, The Station’s opening weekend will also feature guest appearances by Wonder Woman and The Flash, which will be sure to delight families and fans alike. The sixth annual Holiday Market at St. Bartholomew’s Church (Park Ave at East 50th St) is once again featuring hundreds of authentic gift items including arts, crafts, antiques, jewelry and seasonal objects. More then 275,000 shoppers are expected to visit this annual bazaar, located at one of the Grand Central neighborhood’s landmark churches.  DELICIOUS THANKSGIVING DINING DEALS IN THE GRAND CENTRAL NEIGHBORHOOD

Now is the time to make reservations at one of several restaurants around the Grand Central neighborhood offering special Thanksgiving menus next Thursday, November 27. Here are a few options:

The Ambassador Grill (in the Millennium U.N. Plaza Hotel, First Ave and East 44th St – 212-702-5014) will feature a Thanksgiving buffet with unlimited champagne with seatings at noon, 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm. The cost is $70 per person and $35 for children under 12.

Benjamin Steakhouse (in the Dylan Hotel, 52 East 41st St – 212-297-9177) will have a fireside four-course prix fixe Thanksgiving Dinner from 4 pm to 11 pm. The cost is $64 for adults.

Bookmarks (299 Madison Ave at the Library Hotel – 212-204-5498) will be open for cocktails from 3 pm to 11 pm.

Brasserie (100 East 53rd St – 212-751-4840) will feature a prix fixe three-course Thanksgiving menu for $59 per person.

The Campbell Apartment (15 Vanderbilt Ave – 212-953-0409) will be open for cocktails from 3 pm to 11 pm.

Charlie Palmer’s Métrazur (East Balcony of Grand Central Terminal – 212-687-4600) will feature a special three-course prix fixe menu for $65 for adults and a special three-course prix fixe menu for children under 12 for $29.

Cibo (767 Second Ave – 212-681-1616) will have a special four course prix-fixe menu from noon to 9 pm. The cost is $55 for adults and $25 for children plus tax and gratuity.

Cipriani Dolci (West Balcony of Grand Central Terminal – 212-973-0999) will offer a special menu for Thanksgiving from 11 am to 11 pm.

The Commodore Grill (at the Grand Hyatt New York, East 42nd St at Lexington Ave – 646-213-6999) will feature a special prix fixe Thanksgiving menu from 4 pm to 11 pm. The cost for the special menu will be $72 per person, and the regular menu will be available as well.

Docks Oyster Bar & Seafood Grill (633 Third Ave – 212-986-8080) will be serving a special prix fixe meal that includes a traditional turkey dinner with sides from 1 pm to 9 pm. The cost for the special dinner is $45 for adults and $24 for children under 12. The full menu will also be available.

Inside Park at St. Bart’s (109 East 50th St - 212-593-3333) will serve a special four-course menu from noon to 6 pm for $68 per person ($25 per child). The restaurant will donate $5 from every meal served to the Food Bank of the Community Ministry of St. Bart’s.

Istana (in the New York Palace Hotel, 455 Madison Ave – 212-303-6032) will be serving a special Thanksgiving prix fix dinner for $75 per person as well as an a la carte menu. Service is from noon to 8 pm.

Madison & Vine (at the Library Hotel, 299 Madison Ave - 212-867-5535) will be serving a three-course Thanksgiving dinner for $50 per person from noon to 9 pm.

Maloney & Porcelli (37 East 50th St – 212-750-2233) will serve a five-course prix fixe dinner for $79 per person and $49 for children under 10. Seatings will be at 1 pm, 4 pm, and 7 pm.

Manhattan Sky (at the Grand Hyatt New York, East 42nd St at Lexington Ave – 646-213-6999) will be serving a Thanksgiving lunch Buffet from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. The cost is $75 for adults and $39 for children. Children under 4 are free and they will also offer a kid’s cookie decorating station.

Mindy’s (in the New York Helmsley Hotel - 212- 405-4222) will serve a special prix fixe menu for $56 per person (children half-price) as well as an a la cart menu from 11 am to 8 pm.

Murray’s Cheese (in Grand Central Market - 212-922-1540) is offering customers a complete made-to-order Thanksgiving dinner chock full of wholesome and hearty fare. The ready-to-serve menu is designed for a table of six, although additional guests can be added in any increment for $50 per person. Place your order by noon this Sunday by calling 212-243-3289.

Pershing Square (90 East 42nd St – 212-286-9600) will be serving a three course prix fixe menu for $35 per person from 2 pm to 9 pm, as well as an a la carte turkey dinner for $24 from 11 am to 11 pm. The restaurant is also offering homemade apple and pumpkin pies for your Thanksgiving at home. They should be ordered by Monday, November 24 for pick-up on Tuesday, November 25 or Wednesday, November 26.

Riingo in the Alex Hotel (205 East 45th St – 212-867-4200) will be serving a prix fixe menu for $50 per person from noon to 8 pm. Riingo will also be offering a standard a la carte menu.

The Roosevelt Grill (in the Roosevelt Hotel, Madison Ave at 45th St – 212-885-6132) will feature a special three-course prix fixe menu for $55 per person and a separate menu for children.

Smith & Wollensky (797 Third Ave – 212-753-1530) will be serving a prix fixe Thanksgiving menu with seatings at 2 pm, 4 pm, and 7 pm for $79 per person and $49 for children under 10. They will also be offering their regular a la carte menu.

Salute! (270 Madison Ave – 212-213-3440) will be serving a sumptuous Thanksgiving Day buffet from noon to 4 pm for $49. The restaurant’s full dinner menu will also be available beginning at 5 pm.

The Tudor Neighborhood Grill (in the Tudor Hotel at the United Nations, 304 East 42nd St – 212-297-3456) will feature a traditional Thanksgiving buffet from noon to 7 pm for $55 per person, and $20 for children.

The Wheeltapper Pub & Restaurant (in the Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel, 141 East 44th St – 212-351-6800) will host a prix fixe menu for $65 per person. A children’s menu will be available as well.


 SHOP AT LORD & TAYLOR WHILE HELPING OUT NYC SCHOOL CHILDREN

On Tuesday, December 2, from 9 am to 10 pm, Lord & Taylor (Fifth Ave at East 39th St) will host The Benefit Bash, during which shoppers can take advantage of great savings opportunities while also supporting a worthwhile cause.  1,600 YEARS OF BOOKBINDING TO BE SHOWCASED AT THE MORGAN LIBRARY & MUSEUM

One of The Morgan Library & Museum's (225 Madison Ave) core strengths is its collection of historically and artistically significant bookbindings. Begun energetically by Pierpont Morgan himself before the turn of the twentieth century, the collection has grown to more than 1,000 volumes. It spans the ages - more than 1,600 years - and many regions of the globe. Protecting the Word: Bookbindings of the Morgan, will be on view from December 5, through March 29, 2009, presenting a selection of outstanding works from the collection. Highlights will include a bejeweled eighth-century binding used on the famous Lindau Gospels, a magnificent seventh-to-eighth–century Coptic work, and a seventeenth-century English Bible and prayer book in stump work embroidery. Together, these and approximately 50 additional works in the exhibition, demonstrate the skill and artistry of bookbinding at its finest.
